Hotels in Sardinia,Italy

Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean with around 1.800 kilometres of coastline because of this it appeals to those who love water sports and beach holidays. Tourists flock, for not only its natural beauty and striking landscapes but also for its history.

Many diverse cultures have left their mark with numerous monuments and tombs. The most stunning sites can be found at Anghelu Ruju near Sassari a huge area of ancient artificial caves or Barumini a small village, which is recognised as a world wide heritage site.

We recommend you take a boat trip to really appreciate the beauty of Sardinia. From the sea you can not only admire the long beaches and granite rock faces, but swim with the numerous fish in the crystal clear Mediterranean waters.

The weather in Sardinia is generally very good with average temperatures of 24°C in July and 11°C in January. June and September are regarded as the best months to visit Sardinia as it is a lot cooler and not so busy.

Cagliari is the capital city of Sardinia an ancient port city on the islands most southern tip. Apart from a few high rise buildings the centre of Cagliari still remains the same as it did when D. H. Lawrence visited in 1921 when he described Sardinia as a place 'lost between Europe and Africa and belonging nowhere'.
