Explore the Ciutat Vella (the old town) and Barri Gotic (the medieval quarter) with their fine examples of Gothic architecture, which are a stark contrast to modernisme style of La Pedrera; the work of Gaudi. Another masterpiece of Gaudi, La Sagrada Familia, is another must see as the intricate details and beauty of the unfinished spires of the Sagrada Familia Church are awe inspiring. And of course don’t forget a visit to the Museu Picasso for a chance to see some of Picasso’s finest work.

Beaches and a promenade run to Port Olympic the site of the 1992 Olympics, where you will now enjoy international bars and restaurants and boutique shops. Nearby take a tour of Nou Camp the home of FC Barcelona and its impressive trophy room. There is simply lots to do and see in Barcelona, plus many events which take place throughout the year.

Things to do in Barcelona

  1. A short journey on the Metro will take you to Nou Camp where for under 15 Euros you can enjoy a guided tour of the football stadium.
  2. A cable car ride from Montjuic with views of the snowy Pyrenees will cost you under 10 Euros and is only a 5 minute taxi ride away from the city centre.
  3. La Sagrada Familia Church is within walking distance of all major attractions and guided tours of the church are available.
