Things to do in Algarve

1. Aqualand Algarve is a great fun day out for families and younger tourists, located just 15 km from Albufiera a day at this water park will tire out even the livliest of kids!.. with flumes, waterslide, wave machines, rapids and much more you're sure to leave tanned, happy but exhausted!
2. Take a day trip to Lisbon, the capital is just a 2 hour drive away and well worth a visit if you can bear to drag yourself of the beach for day!
3. Pay a visit to Vilamoura, with its stunning Marina, Vilamoura has a more opulent feel than some of the Algarve's other resorts. The hotel accomodation in Vilamoura tends to steer towards the higher end of the market. There are a host of fantastic bars, cafes and restaurants all tending to focus around the marina, if you love Italian we recommend a lovely restaurant in the marina called Lamparo. Or to sample some local delicacies from the sea take a short walk to the resort outskirts where you'll find a great restaurant called Paisagem, a family run local restaurant with all kinds of grilled fish, very fresh, very friendly. But be aware, cash only!
4. With over 20 golf courses, golf is the sole purpose for many visitors trips to the Algarve. The Penina Championship course was the first golf course to be built in the Algarve by one the best known golf architects Sir Henry Cotton. This stunning course offers unique views in a calm and tranquil setting showing nature at its best. The course has several bunkers, almost four hundred thousand trees, plenty of water with wide greens and a vast tee area making this a real championship course.
5. Our Top Insider's Tip!..There is a great beach at the rear end of Faro airport runway. It's called Praia de Faro and is 2 minutes from the fuel station roundabout. Perfect if you want to spend some time before your flight relishing great food and atmosphere. There are some fantastic restaurants so a great place to savour one last Portuguese meal in the sun before catching your return flight home.
